Scientists turn tastes on and off by activating and silencing clusters of brain cells
Scientists have discovered that isolated groups of cells in the brain correspond to each taste category (like sweet and salty). Researchers were also able to make mice feel like they were tasting something when they weren't by stimulating brain areas.
