Blended Mango Salad

A high-nutrient diet reduces the desire for low-nutrient foods. This is the base of a Nutritarian’s daily meals (drfuhrman.com). Whether you are a breastfeeding mama or simply looking for a healthier (and filling) breakfast, this frozen beverage is perfect. The blended drink recipe below has a couple of ingredients you might think you wouldn’t drink. But having a salad blended provides an easier meal with a punch of nutrients.

I find this salad useful for the summer months when I’m on-the-go with the kids. It’s also great for a lunch when crunched for time. I pour it into a travel mug and know that I’m drinking a meal packed with high nutrients that give the body energy. Great for the whole family, too. Enjoy!

1 Serving

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks ( I also added 1 cup of frozen pineapple)
  • 2 cups spinach – fresh
  • 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened unflavored vanilla non-dairy milk or coconut water
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground flax seeds
  • 1 banana, sliced

Directions:

  • Blend ingredients in a high-powered blender or food processor
  • If too thick, add more non-dairy milk or coconut water until desired consistency
