crayons!

Easter is coming up and I made my little nephews some cool things to colour with. At first I was skeptical that they would come out ok but they did and now I have these cool little bunny crayons to give as a cute gift to the boys.

So I had to use gently used crayons, but if you have a bunch of broken and well used ones, this is when they come in handy. You also need a silicone mold. I found a bunny head.

ingredients

Preheat oven to 200 degrees F. Peel all the paper away from the crayons.

crayons

Take a knife and cut the crayons up into smaller sections.

Add them to the silicone mold.

mold

Place in the oven for 30 minutes. The pieces with melt all together.

Let cool for an hour and pop them out. Add them to a piece of card stock with a witty (or in my case corny – I’m punny) phrase and your gifts are complete!

I hope every bunny has a good one!

DIY iPhone Cord Protector and DIY crafts

How many of you have had your phone charger cord (or any cord for that matter chewed on)? As in man’s best friend decides he likes the phone charger cord too! Well in my case it was the cat! I could see out of the corner of my eye my dog quietly snickering in the corner as I was chastising the cat!

I don’t know what Apple puts in their phone charger cords but I swear it’s crack for kitties. The cats just gravitate towards them! They have yet to meet an Apple cord they didn’t like. Gah! What is a girl to do? This is my solution…

cord

FYI, you can do this for any cord; even hanging lamp or chandelier cords you find unsightly! Try fabric that matches your walls to camouflage or bright fun fabrics for a pop of color!

To make this I had a very long ribbon that was used to tie a comforter closed. Of course I saved it knowing it would come in handy. But, if you don’t have a ribbon just cut any fabric to size: About 2 inches wide by double the length of cord you are covering. Fold fabric in half and sew along edge. You can turn fabric inside out so the seam doesn’t show, however I left mine unturned as I liked the contrast in thread color. There really is no wrong way. Just get those cords covered!!!!!

And you know what? It works! I haven’t lost a cord since this invention! I can’t guarantee the same results for you, but try it. What do you have to lose…well except for another cord!

I’d love to hear what you think about this easy to do project! Drop me a comment below. :)

Heey,

Yay it’s April. Except September, the month my birthday is in, I think April is my favourite month. Probably because normally in England we have April showers and as everyone who came from my old weebly blog would know, I love love love the rain. So my scrapbook project has failed until today. That’s right I found it again and yes I have started the project again. By that I just mean I plan on starting/restarting scrapbooking. So one thing I liked to do was a page of “open when youre…” letters but to myself because you know why not. So without further ado I will show you the purposely messy letter I wrote myself today. I’ve written quite a few but this one was a short one. I would show you the “open when youre 17″ one I made in January but a)it’s personal and b) I’m not 17 yet. But here’s the “open when youre feeling like a disappointment” letter

Hope you enjoyed it and you write your own letters to yourself haha not sad at all
