9 Things To (Definitely) Do For April and DIY crafts

Since when is it April? Seriously, cannot believe how fast this year has already gone. At least we’re moving into spring (aka the biggest summer tease ever) and out of, weirdly, the longest winter ever. Here’s a round-up of things to do this month. Let’s call it a definitely to-do list this time.

1. Get edgy with your eggs. I can’t remember the last time I decorated eggs for Easter but it doesn’t just have to be about the kids. There’s more and more ways to get creatively sophisticated with your eggs and we need to take advantage, guys.

2. Throwback to a PB & J April 2 is National Peanut Butter and Jelly day so you already know what you’re having for lunch.

3. Seventh time’s the charm? Furious 7, the latest installment to the Fast and Furious franchise hits theaters April 3. This time the gang attempts to live normal lives in the U.S. until an attempt at revenge puts the whole crew in general. One of the biggest interest points for the film has come in the form of Paul Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner, as Walker only filmed half of his scenes before he passed away in 2013.

4. Jam out. April isn’t a huge release month for music but we can expect new albums from All Time Low (Future Hearts, 4/7), Tom Delonge (To The Stars…, 4/20), Passion Pit (Kindred, 4/21), Josh Groban (Stages, 4/28) and Zac Brown Band (Jekyll + Hyde, 4/28).

5. Festival Season kick-off! One of my favorite seasons is music festival season and April proves to be a true kick-off. For the west coast kids there’s Coachella (April 10-12 & 17-19) with headlining acts like AC/DC, Drake and Jack White and there’s Stagecoach (April 24-26) with Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton all as headlines. Both festivals are in SoCal and wildly different but located on the same grounds.

6. Cowboy up. I’m all about Nicholas Sparks books being adapted into movies and it’s no different for The Longest Ride hitting theaters April 10. The book was beautiful and I’m even more excited for the movie. It’s a double storyline of an older romance and a young romance both facing similar struggles across time and ages.

7. Dive in head first…to J.K. Rowling’s newest book “Very Good Lives: The Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Importance of Imagination” out April 14. Rowling will address some of life’s biggest questions with the proceeds of her book going partially to charity and partially to collegiate financial aid.

It’s a well-written exploration of life and death, plenty of elephant talk and the best kinds of twists and turns.

9. Donate. With the amount of devastation in the world these days, we should all take the time to donate either time or money to a cause we care about. It’s also National Donate Life Month as of a presidential decree a couple of days ago. Help the world and feel a little better about yourself–nothing wrong with that.
