I grew up playing the piano, as did my four younger sisters. Both parents are musically trained – my dad majored in music and my mom now teaches music in elementary. I taught a few different kids in my home briefly, but to my deep regret, my own children have had no formal instruction at all. I guess I’ve used time constraints as an excuse.
I did, however, come across a fantastic FREE website for teaching kids the classics. Classics for Kids has lesson plans by composer for different ages, as well as printables and music links to correspond with each lesson. I printed everything off and put it in a binder a year or so ago. But life happened and my great plans for music lessons were forgotten. That is something I plan to remedy immediately :)
