Bunting

I love bunting.

I’ve even made a cake with bunting on!

When it was the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee there was more bunting in our garden than there was in Pudsey town centre! The Union Jack was just flown on the day of the Queen’s Jubilee.

Even our water butts and Tardis had bunting.

Oh… you didn’t know we had a Tardis ;)

So on this damp Good Friday I decided it was a perfect day to make bunting for the allotment and our garden…

You can’t have too many ‘pretties’ in the garden, plus it helps to keep birds away as the flags wave in the wind and hopefully stop them eating your home grown produce.

It’s quick and easy to make. I’ve used cotton and poly cotton for the allotment bunting and had some waterproof tablecloth material for the bunting in our garden. One triangle of fabric or two triangles sewn together for more strength with bias binding or cotton tape holding it all together. Make the triangles the size you want, fold the bias binding in half, slip the triangle into the bias binding and sew in placea… voila… your bunting is made. It can also be hand sewn if you don’t have a sewing machine.
