What’s just as easy as crocheting a scarf? Crocheting boot cuffs. Certainly there are more intricate patterns for boot cuffs on Pinterest, but these are the easiest, quickest and cheapest to make. It only takes about half an hour to make both boot cuffs.
Materials
1 skein of Lion Brand WoolEase Thick & Quick
Size I/9 crochet hook
*Note Both the yarn and crochet hook can be found at Hobby Lobby or JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores in Ames.
Step 1
Chain 35 stitches or chain enough stitches according to your calf size. The Chain should be about four or five stitches short of completely circling your leg. The chain should be slightly smaller than your calf, as it will stretch a little as you crochet. If you calves are small you will not need to chain 35. If your calves are larger, you might need to chain more than 35 stitches.
Step 2
The rest of this pattern is the double crochet stitch. Chain three more stitches from the original 35 you have already made. Skip the first three stitches (including the one on the hook), wrap the yarn around the hook and insert the hook into the fourth chain.
Wrap the yarn around the hook again and pull the yarn through the first two stitches only. Wrap the yarn around the yarn again and pull it through the remaining two stitches. Repeat this in every stitch across the row.
Repeat step two until you have completed seven total rows of double crochet.
Step 3
After finishing the seventh row, tie off the last stitch leaving enough yarn to sew both ends of the boot cuff. Use a yarn needle to sew the two sides together.
Step 4
Flip the cuffs so they are facing right side out and slip them over your jeans or leggings and you are ready to go.
