Homemade Salt Scrub and DIY crafts

So where I live there is a festival of sorts currently going on and at the venue there are a lot of people selling various handmade and not handmade items. While I was there I came upon a couple selling their salt scrub – I tried it out and everything about it was amazing. The smell, the texture and how soft my hands were afterwards warranted me purchasing some…but although everything about it was great the price was not….not to say I do not support small business but their product was WAY overpriced for the small jar you were getting. So I decided, I should try and make some! I googled and pinterest-ed recipes for homemade salt and sugar scrubs and decided to go with a salt scrub.

The next day I went out after work and got the following ingredients:

  • Coarse Sea Salt

  • Essential Oil

  • Light Sesame Body Oil

Those three ingredients are all you need to make your own scrub. I am my grandmother’s grandchild and so I don’t have any measurements for you if you want to make your own…but I do have estimations, which are listed in the captions.

The entire tube of salt

20 drops of essential oil (more or less depending on how much you want your scrub to smell)

Little less than half the bottle of the body oil (although in the next picture there seems like I used more, I spilt some…haha)

It was definitely a fun thing to make and it should last a while and I have enough oil and essential oil to make more scrubs with different consistencies. I used really coarse salt and I think next time I’ll try for a finer salt.
