I saw a picture of this on Pinterest, and thought it would be a fun craft to do with the girls today. I drew pictures of Jesus – not very well, because Angie asked, “Who’s this girl?” – and two clouds. While the girls were colouring, I read them the story of Jesus’ ascension into heaven.
For each of them, I made a hole in the bottom of a paper cup. I tied a piece of wool to an ice cream stick, and threaded the other end through the hole in the cup. I turned the cup upside down so that the wool hung down. I taped a cloud to the cup and taped the picture of Jesus to the end of the wool.
The girls had fun pulling the string up to watch Jesus ascend. So much fun that it was impossible for them to hold still for photos.
This is the last of our Ten Days of Easter activities for this year. I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing what we’ve done and that you’ve been inspired to do some of them with your family.
