All about Valentines Day! and DIY crafts

It has been so long since my last post! I recently adopted a dog, and then my semester started again and things got a little crazy, just to update everyone :) I’ve also started an internship in the fashion closet at Oprah Magazine, which is really cool because I’ve never done a magazine internship and I’ve always wanted too! So back to my blog post, Valentines Day is only a few short weeks away! I thought I’d share some gift ideas, bought and handmade, and some outfit ideas! Once my internship ended at Zac Posen, I was given the most beautiful red dress that I knew I had to wear on Valentines Day! I’m so excited to finally wear it, paired with some nude pumps and silver jewelry, which I’ll be posting after the fact! Obviously reds or pinks are great colors to wear on Valentines Day, but if you really want to stand out, its always great to wear a nice deep purple or electric blue. I’ll be posting some dress ideas from Nordstrom and Forever 21 for all price ranges that I like at the end of this post. As for gift ideas, jewelry always seems to be the go to for gifts, but if you really want to get someone something special, I always try to go for something that I know they would never buy themselves! Its always nice to get someone something they really need, like a new pair of leather boots, or a new pea coat, which is something you know they’ll use, but also something you know they really want! I’m of course a sucker for that little blue box on Valentines Day, but its also always nice to get things that you know your significant other has added to wishlists or things you know they really need but keep pushing off buying. I also always like to get one bought gift, and then one handmade gift. This is something I like to do because my boyfriend is the hardest person to buy for, but it also helps when you intern and money is really tight! Of course I’m in college, but not everyone is in the same situation, so I’ll be listing things for all price ranges! Nordstrom is definitely one of my go to places for gifts because they have so many different price ranges, and their shipping is really quick! It’s always cute to make something sentimental, like a scrapbook, or even get a porcelain mug and porcelain marker to write a cute saying or their favorite lyrics on. Lots of people find handmade gifts to be childish, but its something I find is an easy way to show someone you still care and put a smile on their face! Its also nice to make little coupon books so it’s something that will last a little while! And don’t forget, if you’re not the crafty kind of person you can always bake their favorite dessert, or even make them dinner. I hope everyone enjoys their Valentines Day, single or not its always been one of my favorite holidays because I love chocolate! I’m not sure why some of the pictures are so small but I’ve listed the links so you can view them yourselves. Hope you enjoyed, Xoxo
