Week 31 Baby-Step Creation: Simple Washi and Ribbon Art and DIY crafts

It’s tough when you’re looking for the perfect piece of art for your home, but you just can’t seem to find it (or afford it when you do!). In the meantime, why not give it a go yourself? There are loads of washi and ribbon art examples online, so I thought I’d try some really simple, straight line artworks.

For the ribbon artwork, you’ll need some reels of ribbon, a photo frame, a pair of scissors and some sticky tape.

I wasn’t too fussed about the design, so I just stretched some ribbon across the paper that came with the photo frame and secured it on the underside with some tape.

For the washi creation, you’ll need even less – just grab some washi and a small canvas and you’re good to go!

Both are super simple and look quite cute – with these colours it would be perfect for a little girl’s room, or even better it would be a great after school project to do with your own kids or nieces and nephews so they can have their very own creations displayed on their bedroom walls.
