Hi Everyone ☺
I always do my weekly beauty treatment on Sunday because I think that’s a good way to finish the week and an excellent way to get prepared for the next one. Sunday would be also great for sharing my beauty tricks and tips with you. Let’s call it BeautySunday. ☺ I’ve been thinking a lot about my first beauty post lately. I have MANY ideas but I needed to choose one and it wasn’t so easy. However, I decided to write about my favourites: DIY face masks. Why do I love them? They are so relaxing and refreshing. And if you make them at home, you’ll know exactly what’s in it. Today I brought 3 amazing home-made face masks: lemon-yoghurt, honey-nutmeg and chocolate-honey. Sounds amazing, huh? Each of them is fantastic and very simple to make, so you must give them a try! You can find +1 beauty trick at the end so keep reading. ☺
First of all, some directions of use. Always apply the face masks on CLEAN skin. I usually put them on at the end of the day when I already had a shower, removed my make-up and cleaned my face. After I applied the mask, I lie down and relax. Cover your hair with a thicker headband. Gently massage the mask into your face, avoiding the lip and eye area. Put a towel on your pillow to prevent it from getting dirty. After the desired time expired, rinse it off with warm water and pat your face dry.
I selected 3 masks that require only two ingredients and all of them can be found at home. So, here they are. Enjoy! ☺
Lemon-yoghurt
This face mask is a very good friend in the fight against acne. It contracts pores, cleanses and beautifies your skin. The lemon contains citric acid which has good effects on your hair, nails (e.g. it whitens discoloured nails) and skin. It helps in the exfoliation of the top layer of your skin and it also pales different kinds of skin stains (freckles, moles, etc.). Lemon is excellent on oily and spotty skin. Yoghurt contains lactic acid which heals, sterilizes and revitalizes the irritated skin. It can be used on every skin type. So, the recipe is the following: mix two-three teaspoons of yoghurt and the zest and juice of ¼ lemon. As it is fluid, put it on your face in a lying position. Since it is acid enough, it is important to leave it on your skin for only 5-8 minutes. It can be repeated one and a half weekly.
Honey-nutmeg
The second very simple DIY face mask is honey-nutmeg. Nutmeg is a strong spice which has an amazing smell (I love its smell and taste ☺ ). It sterilizes the skin, cleanses and contracts pores. Furthermore, it stirs up the dull and greyish skin. Honey is a real natural goodness which also sterilizes, purifies and moisturises the skin. If you don’t have much time, you can apply honey on its own all over your face. But combining it with other ingredients will enhance its effects. So, the recipe: add two teaspoons of grounded nutmeg to two teaspoons of honey. I prefer to use freshly grated nutmeg (but not necessary). Apply it for at least 15 minutes (but even for 30 minutes depending on how much time you have for relaxation) then wash your face with warm water. The tiny pieces of nutmeg will peel off your old skin gently when you’re washing it off. It combines all the benefits that a mask can give your skin. ☺
Chocolate-honey
The next is a delicious chocolate-honey mask. The chocolate is full of antioxidants. It helps to smooth out wrinkles and to freshen up your skin. But only dark chocolate can be used (preferably with 70% coca contains or above – the higher the percentage the better -). You’ll need 1-2 pieces of the chocolate bar and a teaspoon of honey. Put them in a heat-proof bowl and melt the chocolate and honey over lightly steaming water. Wait until it is not too hot and put it on your face. After 15-20 minutes, wash it off with warm water. It will leave your skin silky soft and smooth to touch.
+1 beauty tip
Cut a lemon in half then rub it all over your face. After 30-60 seconds rinse it off. It’ll cleanse your skin, extract pores and make your skin matte. Especially good for those who has oily and spotty skin. Use it once a week.
I hope you, guys enjoyed reading my post and you’ll try these masks out. If you liked it or have a question, leave a comment below!
