Since my old mirror was looking kind of kiddish I decided to upgrade. I love flowers and what better way to show that than to make a masterpiece! Haha well without further adieu let’s get our hands dirty!
The first step is to actually purchase the flowers. I purchased my sunflowers at a local Walmart since they had a fair amount of flowers per bouquet compared to the dollar tree flowers. I ended up buying 4 bouquets which was not necessary since I could have gotten by with two or three. These specific flowers were $3 dollars per bouquet but price varies depending on which flowers you choose.
This is my mirror I remember I decided to put these tacky stickers on because I was working on my senior project (scrapbook) and I had some left over so since the mirror was empty I decided to stick em on! Now if you can, try to take off as many stickers as possible (if you’re in the same predicament as me that is) if you can’t do that or if that’s not your case no need to fret because….
…the second step is to find some paint (I chose acrylic since it dries quickly) and paint the edges. If the paint goes onto the mirror simply pass a whipe.
I chose a dark brown since it keeps the attention on the flowers themselves. This is how it turned out. It won’t matter if you left fingerprints because in the end the flowers will cover it up. The color is just to make a base for the little bit that does show.
Now while that dries start to dissemble the bouquet.
With the flowers you can either slide them off or cut them off. Either way you choose make sure that you don’t leave the stump. Cut it off so the flower can be as flat as possible when you go to glue it.
The next step is to slide off the leaves. Those too will have a stump but unlike the flowers you don’t need to cut them off just simply pull them apart and you will come out with a nice flat leaf.
Now make sure to plug in your hot glue gun and that you have extra sticks ready to use.
Start to place the flowers where you would like to glue them down. Don’t glue them down until you know exactly where you want them to be!!! This was an insta shot since my dog decided to keep me company haha.
The only thing left to do is glue them down. Now don’t be cheap with the glue you want the flowers to stick and last for a long time! This is somewhat what it should look like unless you took a different route in the placement part.
Enjoy taking awesome selfies now!
I hope you liked this post meet me back here next Monday for more! :)
