Five-Sixths to Go

I can’t believe it’s already March. I also can’t believe we bought our house just over a year ago – a YEAR! And we still have what feels like a ton of boxes to unpack. How is that even possible? I am taking a week off of work at the end of the month and am planning on unpacking most of those remaining boxes and really putting forth an effort to get our stuff organized. But, more about that another time perhaps. For now, let’s see what I’ve done so far this year!

At the beginning of the year, I made a list of crafty things I wanted to accomplish. I find visual cues helpful when it comes to goals, so I made some charts. Each time I complete one of my goals I fill in the corresponding bubble number. It’s remarkably satisfying.

So far I have completed one cardigan, knit a pair of handspun socks (which helpfully colors in two bubbles):

I’ve completed one sewing project, everyday napkins for our house:

I’ve spun 3 bumps of fiber (each bump is 1/4 of a pound, so to get to 15 pounds of handspun I need to spin 60 bumps, which is what my bubbles represent) and knit 5 mitered squares for my long-term blanket project:

I’m not quite as far as I’d like to be with everything, but work will be calming down soon (possibly sooner than intended because I’ve been sick the past two days and totally think it’s all the overtime that wrecked my immune system, so I might scale back), and I’ll be able to work on more crafty things. Woo!
