Happy scrapbooking

I don’t make New Year’s resolutions but I wanted to start a new hobby this year. I watched a few videos on scrapbooking and I thought it would be a lovely way of documenting my life and being more creative. I have spent a month collecting supplies and tonight I was ready to start.

I looked at Project Life on the Hobbycraft website but it seemed so expensive. I didn’t want my hobby to cost a lot of money and half the fun has been shopping for things.

The scrapbook

I found the perfect book in WH Smiths and found it again on EBay for only £4.99! I believe it has 50 pages, all of which are black.

Adhesive

Wilkinson’s. It’s a double sided glue mouse! So easy to stick down photos.

Add ons

Scissors, stickers and backing paper were from Wilkinsons and all really well priced. I wanted a simple black and white theme for the start of the year.

Photos

I downloaded an app that was advertised on Twitter called Polabox. It was very easy to use and allowed me to choose pictures from Instagram, Facebook and my camera roll. I ordered 6 10cmx10cm photos at 35p each. They arrived quickly and are good quality.

Pens

I ordered 4 pastel pens from eBay, to really stand out on the black.

Tonight I added my first page of photos. I felt a bit pressured to make it perfect but lost this feeling once I got going. I’ve got to be honest, I’m never going to be Pinterest-perfect!
