DIY Shabby Chic Mason Jars

I am so thrilled that I finally made these. I have seen them on Pinterest and probably have a bunch of them pinned, and yesterday I finally had some time to sit down and make a few for the kitchen we are remodeling (but that’s another story).

First thing that you will need are your supplies:

  • Mason Jars

  • Sponge Paint Brush

  • Paint (I used Americana Decor – Chalky Finish)

  • Mod Podge (Matte Finish)

  • Sandpaper (I liked 100 and 150 grit)

  • Flowers

I painted the outside of the mason jar and left the bottom unpainted. I left the first coat dry and then added a 2nd coat.

Steps_4-5 After the paint dried, I added a coat of the Matte Mod Podge. This is what I used to seal the paint. After it dried, I took my sandpaper and sanded off all of the raised letters. I also sanded other parts of the jar to give it an aged look.

Above my kitchen cabinets are the perfect place for my new shabby chic mason jars! These were very simple to make and the decor ideas I have are endless! What will you do with yours?

Thanks
