I’m not afraid of any stripes! I took the time to cut fabric and then piece it so the stripes would absolutely match up. Not only that, I inserted a zipper! I used pins and an awl to control the fabric and keep the stripes aligned. I don’t usually use pins, but I do when it matters or the task is difficult.

The inside pocket has a faced zipper because no one should have to see a naked zipper tape. Since I am selling this bag, it has to look as good inside as it does outside. The lining is the same fabric as my simple shift. The face of the bag is a cotton drapery fabric I found at a discount fabric store in town. The outer fabric is a nice tight weave and heavy, almost like a canvas.

I will update you on the progress of this gym or sport bag as I go along. I will also let you know when I post it to my Etsy store.
