Back to School Baking and DIY crafts

It’s that time of year again here in North Queensland. The kidlet is busy preparing himself for the return to school on Tuesday and I’m busy preparing myself for the peace and quiet that will descend on the house at 9am that morning. However, there is not peace or quiet to be found today with a number of storms brewing on the horizon and drizzling rain all afternoon.

The kidlet has retreated to his room and the sanctuary of Minecraft whilst I listened to Midsomer Murders and got my bake on. An hour later and I’d finished baking a loaf of banana bread and blueberry muffins. Yum!

Dinner is all sorted with a sausage curry in the slow cooker.

Now I’m going to settle down with the two sewing books I borrowed from the library yesterday – Sewing Basics by Sandra Bardwell and The Sewing Book by Alison Smith. I’ve got a duvet cover that needs to be patched and I’m a little rusty with my sewing skills.

Dinner tonight – slow cooked sausage curry!
