The third grade Valentine’s party craft this year will be stamping with walnuts.
We have black walnut trees in the yard at the Sugar River Cottage. All summer they drop nuts that wreak havoc with the lawn mower blade but, when the squirrels crack them open, the shells are beautiful. They look like owl faces to me but they also make great heart stamps.
Just lightly sand the walnut surface to make it flat. Then use a foam brush or roller to spread on some paint and stamp. An easy project that helps kids connect with nature.
