DIY edible clay (for kids)

Before anything else, I wanted to thank my mom for sharing me this idea. My mom needs clay for her class this week so she asked me to do it for her. I know that I got my looks majority from my mom (I am prettier though hahaha kidding!) but, one thing that Iam thankful to God is that, I got from her the love of crafting and DIY’s. I always remember the times when used to play barbie dolls a lot. I love dressing up my dolls and I always ask mom to buy dresses for my dolls but since we can’t afford it my mom will just sew dresses for my dolls from “retasos” of fabrics. My mom is my favorite crafts & DIY teacher.

Since my mom is working with kids, she have to facilitate activities that are very interesting and can be a learning tool for kids! Plus! It should be really safe! This DIY clay is made of edible ingredients and if kids are really curious and try a piece of it… No problemo! It is non toxic, really edible and super safe!

That’s why I wanted to share this specially to moms out there. It is a super fun way of teaching kids and stimulating their imaginations. I personally love clay because, I always remember the story of the Potter’s hand in the book of Jeremiah and it is a perfect illustration of that story for all of us.

Now let’s begin the mess! Haha

What you need?

1. All you need to do is to mix them all together with a spatula.

2. I know it is quite hard to mix them all, you can use your hands to mix them. (Dont forget to clean your hands)

3. Knead them as if you want to make a pizza dough!

You can add small amount of water if you want softer clay.

4. Put a few drops of food color on your clay dough! And start kneading again!

5. Continue to knead it until the color is even.

And then…..
