DIY Marbled Clay Bowls and DIY crafts

Happy Tuesday!

I’ll admit it, I am a huge ABM fan. For those of you who don’t know ABM (do you even internet?!) they are an awesome lifestyle site specializing in DIYs and awesome recipes!

Now, I’m sure everyone and their mom have done this DIY before but that’s not gonna stop me!

The things you will need;

3-5 different colors of clay, can be found at any craft store

sharp knife

oven proof bowl for baking clay in

rolling pin

bowl or jar for circular trace

gold paint and paintbrush (optional)

The first thing you get to do is pick out your colors! I stayed mostly in the blue, green, black, white, and gray family, because I knew they would all look good together. After picking your colors take off a good sized chunk and roll out into a five inch worm shape. Once all of your clay is worm shaped, roll them all into one big worm and smush into a ball. Take your rolling pin and flatten out. It should make a marble type design at this point, but if not don’t despair. My first once was crap and didn’t marble until I pulled it apart and pushed it back together a couple of times. Next, you want to put down your bowl or jar over the flattened clay and trace out your circle. Place in your oven proof bowl so that it is sagging slightly to create that bowl shape. Bake for 15 minutes at 275 F. After they’re all cool, paint the edge gold.

Note; This does not come out as hardened clay. It’s more of a hardened plastic, but still soft enough to that if you dropped it off the counter, it wouldn’t break.
