(advisory: if you are to attempt this you should find out which products specifically work for your hair type. I have natural thin, wavy-curly, light brown-dirty blonde hair.)
Money is tight and wanted to have platinum hair again. I knew better than to buy that terrible boxed stuff from grocery stores. So just with active research, the proper tools, and a little patience. I paid less than $20 for all this and it will last me for 3-4 more times. This has been a revelation for me because I used to spend $100+ every six weeks (when I had a job) for these kind of results. Obviously you should also invest in good hair products. Sally’s Beauty Supply offers all you need, again, very cheap.
I use:
One n Only Argan Oil deep conditioning treatment. CHI heat protection oil to make my hair shine and prevent fly aways.
Research: talking to stylists, sales associates at beauty supply stores, watching YouTube videos, and googling extra information about specific products.
Tools: disposable gloves, applicator brush, a plastic bowl, and comb.
Patience: understand that you might not get it right the first time, it takes about 3 hours, and never rush!
