Easy DIY Lip Scrub and DIY crafts

There’s nothing worse than putting on lipstick and having it morph into a mess of faded wrinkly lines because your lips are too dry.

Okay, there are a ton of worse things.

But it’s still pretty annoying.

The winter is ESPECIALLY bad for chapped lips. I am convinced that winter in Toronto is worse than most places because the skyscrapers turn all streets into wind tunnels and the wind just blasts you as you’re trying to walk. A “Sunday stroll” is definitely not a pleasant experience.

And lately, to make it even worse, the days have been starting out sunny and in the positives — tricking you into wearing a spring jacket with no hat or mittens — and then BAM! It’s -14°C with a wind chill of -170°C and you have no winter attire and have to walk home. #CruelWorld

BUT, have no fear because I have created a DIY lip scrub that will save your lips! I researched a lot about this and looked at a ton of lip scrubs and combined all that knowledge into the simplest, fastest lip scrub that you can ever create.

Ingredients:

1. Brown sugar

2. Coconut oil

Use 1.5 parts sugar for every 1 part oil, and keep adding sugar until you’ve reached your desired consistency.

Supplies:

1. A small container to contain your scrub

2. Your favourite Washi tape to make it all look cute!

Mix the two ingredients together until they are blended evenly.

Then, all you have to do wrap some Washi tape around your container and fill ‘er up with your brand new luscious lip scrub!

Benefits:

– Coconut oil is anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory!

– It absorbs into the skin and helps strengthen the cell structures of the lips.

– The sugar makes your lips SOOOO soft and smooth after just a few seconds of exfoliating.

– It doesn’t contain any of the chemicals that you’ll find in so many other lip products out there!

It’s not the most appetizing-looking lip scrub out there but it smells like heaven and works like a charm. When it’s in a container, the scrub will settle and the oil will rise to the top. Just mix it up with a toothpick again before using. You can also dip your finger lightly into the oil to rub on your lips as a lip balm. It’s a two-in-one!

Hope you like it!
