Ready To Start and DIY crafts

The best and worst thing for writers might just be a blank page.

More than anything else, the endless possibilities it presents can be incredibly scary. On the one hand, you can write down anything you want, the way you want it and create something unique. On the other hand, how do you figure out how to do that? Where do you start?

As humans, we are introduced to words and speech early in life and one would think we’d have perfected the art of speaking and writing by the time we’re adults. That is all well and good. Until you have to add something else to the mix: creativity.

What sets people like Jane Austen, Oscar Wilde or Gabriel García Marquéz apart from other human beings? They have managed to take their knowledge of their native language and find in it a channel to put out to the world the ideas that swirled in their heads, resulting in remarkable stories people are moved by.

Words can have that effect. They can change you, they can touch you in ways that you might not have thought possible.

Undeniably, without the literature we have at our disposal at this moment in time, we couldn’t say we lived in a civilized society.

We need the written word. We need it badly.
